Welcome to Year 4 and back to this academic school year. We have had great start so far.

I just wanted to let you know about the homework and some routines the class will be following.

Spellings will be given out each week and a spelling test done every Friday.

This weeks spellings went home as 2 handwriting sheets on Monday and we will continue to do this. The spellings will be worked on in class too, within  our daily spelling lessons to support this work.

This weeks spellings are;

actual, arrive, busy, certain, enough, fruit, height, mention, occasionally,often, opposite, ordinary,peculiar,remember,strange,surprise, weight.

Guided reading will be taught in small groups throughout the week with guided reading questions, to answer in full sentences, for homework. These homework books will be sent home every Friday to be returned the following Friday, so they have a whole week to do it. They can bring it in earlier (returns on Monday will get 2 house points, but they don't have to return them this early.) 

Reading books and reading diaries go home every night and they will recieve house points if they read at home and have their diaries signed.

Maths.Maths will be set weekly. The homeork will be based on the work we are doing in class that week and they will also have a week to complete it.
